Our Alpacas 

Females

The female alpaca is typically smaller in size with an average weight from 100 to 140 lbs. Females can be bred between 18-24 months of age. Gestation period is approx. 345 days or 11.5 months and they will usually have one cria

(alpaca infant). Females tend to be more timid than the males and therefore they are more aware of potential predators in the area. 

Males 

Male alpacas typically weight from 140 to 220lbs . Males can be more aggressive than the females and may fight with other males . Males can begin breeding around 2-3 years of age.
